Command Intelligence Analyst — FAQ

Audience: Dispatchers and operations users Product: Command Intelligence Analyst — read-only AI chat in Command Cloud Dispatch Last updated: 2026-08-21

How the Analyst behaves in Dispatch today — opening it, what it can and cannot do, permissions, and what to do when an answer looks wrong. Written for the people using it, not for engineers.

Section 1

Getting started

What is Command Intelligence Analyst?#

Command Intelligence Analyst is a read-only AI assistant built into Dispatch. Open the chat drawer from the header (sparkle icon), ask questions in plain language, and get answers about your orders, customers, projects, and operational data. It explains and summarizes — it does not change anything in Dispatch.

How do I open it?#

Look for the sparkle (AutoAwesome) icon in the Dispatch header. Your company must have the Command Cloud AI subscription, and your user account needs the Command Intelligence — Analyst permission.

Do I need to attach an order first?#

Usually not. When you are on a Dispatch screen, the analyst can use where you are in the app as context (ambient context). You can also manually attach specific orders, customers, or projects when you want the analyst focused on those records.

Which app does this work in?#

Dispatch only for now. Other Command Cloud apps will follow later.

Section 2

What it can and cannot do

What can it help with?#

  • Summarize orders, tickets, and activity for a date range or customer
  • Answer operational questions in business language
  • Compare counts, volumes, and trends from your company’s data warehouse
  • Use attached records or your current screen as extra context

What can it not do?#

  • Create, edit, void, or hold orders or tickets
  • Change billing, pricing, or customer records
  • Replace Dispatch workflows for live operational changes
  • Guarantee real-time data identical to every field on your screen (it reads from the data warehouse, not live Dispatch APIs)

What is the default date range if I don’t specify one?#

Seven days — the analyst assumes roughly the last week unless you say otherwise.

Section 3

Context and attachments

What is “ambient” context?#

Ambient context is automatic background from the Dispatch screen you are on — for example, which list or detail view is open. You do not have to attach something manually for every question.

How do I attach specific records?#

Use the attach control in the chat drawer to pick orders, customers, projects, or other supported items. This helps when you want the analyst locked onto particular records.

Is there a limit on how many items I can attach?#

Manual attach through the picker is limited (on the order of 25 items per selection). Ambient context from your screen does not count against that same manual limit in the same way.

Section 4

Permissions and access

What permission do I need?#

Command Intelligence — Analyst (same name in all supported languages). Company administrators who need to test the feature can also be granted this permission.

What Dispatch screen permissions help?#

To get useful answers, you typically need permission to view orders, projects, and customers in Dispatch. Without those views, the analyst may not have enough context or access to answer well.

Why do I see “You do not have permission”?#

Your account may be missing the Analyst permission, the Command Cloud AI subscription may not be enabled for your company, or you may lack the underlying Dispatch view permissions. Contact your company administrator.

Section 5

Limits and expectations

How long does an answer take?#

It varies. Simple questions may finish quickly; questions that require more data analysis take longer. There is no fixed time guarantee.

How many questions can I ask in one session?#

There is a per-session limit on user prompts (about 15 in a single drawer session). Starting fresh or opening a new conversation resets that budget.

Are there usage credits?#

Yes. Your company has a pooled AI allowance set on your subscription. You may see a usage bar in the drawer, and warnings appear as you approach the limit. Your company administrator manages the allowance.

How long is my chat history kept?#

You can see about seven days of past conversations in the chat history panel. Older threads roll off that view.

Section 6

Feedback

Can I rate an answer as helpful or not helpful?#

Yes. Under each analyst reply you will see thumbs up and thumbs down.

  • Thumbs up — records that the answer was useful.
  • Thumbs down — records that something missed the mark and may open a short box for optional comments.

You can only rate each answer once.

What should I include when I give a thumbs down?#

A written comment is optional, but a few sentences help us fix the right thing. Useful details:

  • The question you asked (or the suggestion chip you used)
  • What was wrong — wrong number, wrong time period, missed an order or customer, answer too vague, etc.
  • What you expected instead — e.g. “I expected today’s delivered yards, not created tickets”
  • Date range or records you cared about, especially if you did not state them in the question
  • Whether the answer did not match the screen you were looking at

Plain operational language is enough. You do not need technical detail.

Does feedback change anything in Dispatch?#

No. Feedback is saved with your conversation so we can improve the analyst. It does not change orders, tickets, billing, or any live data. Use normal Dispatch workflows for operational changes.

The thumbs buttons did not seem to work — what should I do?#

Thumbs up and thumbs down are available in the Dispatch drawer. We are aware of a minor issue that can occasionally prevent feedback from registering on the first try. If a thumb does not respond, try once more or refresh the page and rate the answer again. Your feedback still helps even when you add a short comment on a thumbs down.

Can I change my rating after I submit it?#

No. Once you rate an answer, that rating is saved for that message. If something else is wrong, ask a follow-up question or start a new conversation and rate that answer separately.

Section 7

Troubleshooting

The answer looks wrong or incomplete#

  • Check whether you stated the date range you care about.
  • Attach the order or customer if the question is about a specific record.
  • Remember answers come from the warehouse, which may not match every live Dispatch field.
  • Use thumbs down on that answer and briefly say what was wrong and what you expected.

I cannot send a message#

Make sure you have context (you are on a Dispatch screen with ambient context, or you have attached at least one item, depending on your screen). Also confirm you have not hit the per-session prompt limit or monthly credit cap.

The drawer will not open#

Confirm Command Cloud AI is enabled for your company and you have the Command Intelligence — Analyst permission.

Where do I see what changed in the latest release?#

The Releases page carries a note per production release, and Shipped lists every feature on one page.
